$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install avrprog 

avrprog is installed in your system.

Make ensure the avrprog package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep avrprog *

You will get with avrprog package name, version, architecture and description in a table

avrprog package basic information:
